Relationships are worth fighting for
Humans are made for and require connection with others, which is why investing in our relationships is so crucial. Strong marriages and families are foundational to a thriving community; therefore, I work to help people strengthen their relationships no matter what stage (dating, pre-marital, co-habitation, marriage). I am trained in Gottman Method therapy and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, which work well together to focus on regulating conflict, improving communication and rebuilding or improving intimacy and connection. During our work together, we will thoroughly assess areas of both strength and challenge in your relationship in order to guide the therapy. I specialize in helping couples who experience: high levels of conflict; inability to communicate; emotional & physical distance or disengagement; infidelity/betrayal; transitioning to parenthood; infertility/pregnancy loss; difficulty overcoming family of origin or cultural differences; and difficulty making the decision to divorce or separate.
I offer faith-based counseling for those who want to incorporate Christian principles into their relationships.
I also have significant experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, life transitions, anger, infertility/pregnancy loss, relationship stress, grief and family of origin issues. My approach is highly collaborative and focused on your specific needs.
On a personal note: I obtained an BA in psychology from DePaul University and a MA in counseling from Argosy University (Illinois School of Professional Psychology). I have been married to my husband, Andre, for 10 years and we have 4 children.
